The Rockies might be without Seth Halvorsen for the rest of the season after the right-handed closer left Saturday's game in the ninth with an injury to his pitching elbow.

Young, 26, was recalled from the minor leagues and designated as the 27th man for the second half of Tuesday's doubleheader against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. Against the major league team leader in batting average and hits, the 6-foot-6 right-hander held the Blue Jays to two runs and six hits over six innings.

After experiencing problems with his pitchcom device that caused three brief delays in the first inning, Pérez (4-3) struck out six and walked three in his 88-pitch outing. Relievers Ronny Henriquez and Tyler Phillips followed Pérez with perfect innings before Calvin Faucher retired the three batters he faced in the ninth for his 11th save.

Anthony Volpe is expected to start at shortstop on Sunday afternoon when his New York Yankees conclude their three-game series against the host Miami Marlins. Miami has won the first two games of the series. Entering this weekend, Volpe, 24, led the majors in errors with 16, and his .957 fielding percentage is down 15 points from last season. Volpe had a monster game against Miami on Friday, going 4-for-5 with a homer, a double, three runs, two RBIs and two steals.

The Minnesota Twins essentially wiped the slate clean before their series at the Cleveland Guardians, trading almost 40 percent of their roster. Minnesota right-hander Jose Urena (0-0, 5.40 ERA) will take the mound Sunday afternoon in the finale against Cleveland left-hander Joey Cantillo (2-1, 4.14). "Some of us now get a second chance with this," Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers said. The Guardians took the first game 3-2 on a Kyle Manzardo walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning, then won the second 5-4 after Bo Naylor doubled in Jose Ramirez in the eighth.
